question should not say ‘together’ because vmotion and storage vmotion can not be done at the same time, rather sequentially

  2. Steve says:

You cannot vMotion/Storage vMotion a RUNNING VM to a different host at the same time. You can only do this together if the VM is shutdown. So you would have to vMotion the RUNNING VM to the destination host, then Storage vMotion the VM to the destination Datastore.

  3. llhawk says:

the word “together” doesn’t indicate “at the same time”, but “conbine A technique and B technique”.

first step is to do the vMotion from a server to another server on a shared datastore.

secondey step is to do the Storage vMotion from the shared datastore to the local datastore on another server.
