I do not see how this answer could be correct, even though I have 2 practice exams that show the same results. I am looking at vSphere right now and am creating a test virtual machine. I select “typical” and the next option takes me to where I name the virtual machine and a place to select the inventory location. The next screen is where I select the DATASTORE(I agree with this choice) The next screen clearly states “VERSION” and then the next screen is where you configure the hard drive space. I do not see any place to configure a RESOURCE POOL. My selection would be B,D,E. If i am missing something, please let me know. I want to understand this question

error, in my first post, I meant to say, I would answer C,D,E and I do not agree with B as a selection. I do not see any place to configure a RESOURCE POOL during a typical install

Create a new VM wizard steps:

    1. Name & Location
    2. Storage
    3. Guest OS/Version
    4. Network (# NICs/Adapters to use)
    5. Create disk
    6. Complete

    A (Datastore) is not skipped
B VM version (Guest OS version?) is not skipped
    C Resource Pool IS SKIPPED
D Number of vCPUs IS SKIPPED
    E Memory Configuration IS SKIPPED

    Answer: C, D, E are skipped.

Resource pool option is available during typical machine creation (note that you MUST have a resource pool created before you will see this option)

    Typical Options:
    -Name & Location
    -Resource Pool
    -Storage
    -Guest OS
    -Network
    -Disk

    Custom Options:
    -Name and Location
    -Resource Pool
    -Storage
    -VM Version !!!
    -Guest OS
    -CPU’s !!!
    -Memory !!!
    -Network
    -SCSI Controller
    -Disk

Therefore thor is right, answers are B, D, and E.

  5. Nick says:

The correct answer is BDE. I looked at creating a new virtual machine. The following is avaiable with Typical:
    Name and Location
    Resource Pool
    Storage
    Guest OS
    Network
    Create a Disk
    Ready to Complete

    Custom:
    Virtual Machine version
    CPUs
    Memory
    SCSI Controller
