what reason?

Input/output (I/O) device management is important for what reason?

PrepAway - Latest Free Exam Questions & Answers

A.
Invoking deadlock situations

B.
Insuring the ready availability of resources

C.
Creating virtual memory

D.
Avoiding buffer overflows

Explanation:
Proper I/O device management assures that when processes are done,
resources (memory allocation, printers, secondary storage devices, etc.) are
released back to the available pool. Such management is specifically conducted to
avoid, rather than invoke, deadlock situations that tie up resources, thus denying
them to other users and processes. I/O management has nothing to do with creating
virtual memory, although such memory may be used to improve the speed with which
processing by resources can take place and be released faster. Buffer overflows
could cause the execution of malicious code that could result in undermining I/O
management, but this circumstance is not specifically related to devices.

Unless I’m reading this incorrectly, Answer B is still correct. Removing the “, rather than invoke,” comment to reduce redundancy, we get:

“…specifically conducted to avoid … deadlock situations …”

This is NOT what is stated in A.
