And not the software developer, right? so it should be D – Malicious add-ons
toolbar is add-on in a browser.

again its a ambiguous question , if employees starting download toolbar after a month is not a full evidence that the toolbar just popes up exactelly after a month , it can be there before that and may be nobody noticed and clicked it before that and by saying that working employees clicked it after a month of leaving employee doesn’t confirm the date of toolbar creation

There is no definite evidence that someone (or the developer) planted a malware also known as logic bomb. The root cause of the problem was “Upon further research, it was
determined that these employees had downloaded a shopping toolbar. It was this….” I also believe D is the correct answer

When you have to answer 1,700 questions, and you read the first line of this question, you check “Logic Bomb” and move on.

However, the rest of the question makes it clear this is a Malicious add-on. The first part of the question was irrelevant information, a tactic which CompTIA occasionally uses.

I totally agree it is an ambiguous question. The first sentence makes you think it is logic bomb. However, please read the second sentence very carefully. It means first the helpdesk thinks it is logic bomb, upon further research, the helpdesk realizes it is malicious add-on. In addition, there is no evidence to show the developer upload a shopping toolbar.
