      Yes and no. PCs and hubs are layer one devices. Switches are layer two. Routers are layer three. Devices of the same layer are connected with crossover cables and devices between layers are connected via straight-through cables.

      The images show
      Pc to Switch which uses a straight-through cable (layer 1 to layer 2)
      Router (console port) to PC which uses a rollover cable (layer 3 (con) to layer 1)
      Router to switch which uses a straight-through cable (layer 3 to layer 2)
      Router (fast Ethernet port)to PC uses a crossover cable (layer 3 (fa)to layer 1)
      Switch to switch uses a crossover cable (layer 2 to layer 2)

      Otherwise B and C would be true as well as D. B is not true in this case because you need a rollover instead of a crossover.
