    answer is B.

    as we need 60 hosts, but we can get 62 hosts using 6 bits and if we use 5 bits we will get 32 hosts. so we will choose 6 bits for host in the 4th octed that will be /26. so answer B is correct.

    we will not use answer D as it is not the network ID.

      60 hosts we need a subnet mask of at least 6 bit 0s -> “/26″. The question requires “wasting the fewest addresses” which means we have to allow only 62(not less than that ie 56) hosts-per-subnet -> B is correct.
