DRS Host Group is a prerequisite of VM-Host Affinity rule. In DRS group you will create a list of available hosts from specific virtual machines.

Create a Host DRS Group
A VM-Host affinity rule establishes an affinity (or anti-affinity) relationship between a virtual machine DRS group with a host DRS group. You must create both of these groups before you can create a rule that links them.

The correct answer is ‘A’, according to the explanation. The reason is:

The question says: “Which vSphere feature SATISFIES this requirement.”

Host groups do not satisfy this requirement by themselves. To satisfy this requirement takes Host Groups, VM Groups and VM-Host Affinity rules.

Since all of these are created under “DRS Storage groups”, it would be the best answer. It is not exactly right becuase it dies not include VM-Host affinity rules. So the REAL correct answer is: “NONE OF THE ABOVE”.

  2. George says:

D is the correct answer. You create a Host affinity rule and select “Should run on Hosts in Group” and select the group of hosts you need it to run on.
They could have just said host and not hosts to make it more clear.

    1. George says:

After reading the question again the feature that satisfies the question is host groups. A single host to VM affinity rule cannot satisfy the requirement fully “hosts”. Also to further satisfy the question you would want to select MUST run and not SHOULD run.
      B is the correct answer.
