Yourcompany recently deployed a new Active Directory forest named contoso.com. The first
domain controller in the forest runs Windows Server 2012 R2.
You need to identify the time-to-live (TTL) value for domain referrals to the NETLOGON and SYSVOL
shared folders.
Which tool should you use?

A.
Ultrasound
B.
Replmon
C.
Dfsdiag
D.
Frsutil
Explanation:
DFSDIAG can check your configuration in five different ways:
Checking referral responses (DFSDIAG /TestReferral)
Checking domain controller configuration
Checking site associations
Checking namespace server configuration
Checking individual namespace configuration and integrity
Five ways to check your DFS-Namespaces (DFS-N) configuration with the DFSDIAG.EXE
tool
DFSDIAG /testreferral
Perform specific tests, depending on the type of referral being used.
For Trusted Domain referrals, validates that the referral list includes all trusted domains.
For Domain referrals, perform a DC health check as in /testdcs
*** For Sysvol and Netlogon referrals perform the validation for Domain referrals and that its TTL has the default value (900s).
For namespace root referrals, perform the validation for Domain referrals, a DFS configuration check (as in /testdfsconfig) and a Namespace integrity check (as in /testdfsintegrity).
For DFS folder referrals, in addition to performing the same health checks as when you specify a namesapace root, this command validates the site configuration for folder target (DFSDiag /testsites) and validates the site association of the local host
Again for your namespace at contoso.com:
DFSDiag /testreferral /dfspath:\\Contoso.com\MyNamespace

what I don’t get with this question/answer:
it asks about “you need to IDENTIFY the time-to-live value…”
for my understanding the provided answer gets just close to this but actually doesn’t achive this goal, because just checks “validation for Domain referrals and that its TTL has the default value”, giving you an output like “success: the TTL value is OK”.
my expectation was something that returns some exact value, but this is kinda fuzzy!
on the other hand all other choices are definately wrong, but from my point of view NO no choice is right when it comes to IDENTIFY an exact value…?!
has anyone ever tried to just omitting an answer when all choices seems to be wrong?

“When you specify a domain and \SYSVOL or \NETLOGON, in addition to performing the same health checks as when you specify a domain, the command checks that the Time To Live (TTL) of SYSVOL or NETLOGON referrals match the default value of 900 seconds.”
Therefore TTL=900 seconds.
