The answers are correct – >
The following set of drives/volumes can’t get backup:
•Removable Media: The drive must report as a fixed to be used a backup item source.
•Read-only Volumes: The volume must be writable for the volume shadow copy service (VSS) to function.
•Offline Volumes: The volume must be online for VSS to function.
•Network share: The volume must be local to the server to be backed up using online backup.
•Bitlocker protected volumes: The volume must be unlocked before the backup can occur.
•File System Identification: NTFS is the only file system supported for this version of the online backup service.

    Correct answer is:
    WAOB
    WAOB
    WSB
    WSB

explanation is wrong for volume 1.
Yes volume 1 has to be unlocked, and we are using the server to backup itself, so we may assume that the volume is unlocked.

    1. den says:

it should be assumed that “everybody” (= s.b. going for MCSA oder MCSE) is able to use manage-bde to unlock a Bitlocker encrypted volume before starting backup and lock it again when finished.
The question further stated “when ever possible”, so WAOB is not impossible.
Therefore my vote also goes to:
      WAOB
      WAOB
      WSB
      WSB

My vote goes to original answer because these questions are often literal and if it does not say that the drive is unlocked, then you cannot assume that it can be backed up.

I agree. They are testing your knowledge of what the requirements are and what can prevent it.
Sure we know we can Unlock Voume 1, but thats like saying “well technically…” which you can’t do in these exams.
If it doesnt say unlocked, you cant use WAOB. simple as that. Don’t overthink.
