A.
From the properties of each user account, configure the User profile settings.

B.
From a Group Policy object (GPO), configure the Folder Redirection settings.

C.

D.

Explanation:
User settings and user files are typically stored in the local user profile, under the Users folder. The
files in local user profiles can be accessed only from the current computer, which makes it difficult
for users who use more than one computer to work with their data and synchronize settings
between multiple computers. Two technologies exist to address this problem: Roaming Profiles and
Folder Redirection.
Folder Redirection lets administrators redirect the path of a folder to a new location. The location
can be a folder on the local computer or a directory on a network file share. Users can work with
documents on a server as if the documents were based on a local drive. The documents in the
folder are available to the user from any computer on the network. Folder Redirection is located
under Windows Settings in the console tree when you edit domain-based Group Policy by using the
Group Policy Management Console (GPMC). Folder Redirection Overview

GBILOUX is right. To go through thousands of accunts or not, it does not matter here. Besides nobody says there are thounsands of accoutns.

    If the question was:
“to ensure that when the users save files in the Documents folder, the files are saved automatically to \\Server1\Users\.”, than the answer would be “B”.

If the question was that, the answer would be A.

If the question mentions a specific folder, such as Documents, then User Profile is a better choice. This question however, mentioned “USER SETTINGS”. This could include everything and thus using Folder Redirection will be more suitable.

      70-411 question btw.

but just redirecting some folder will not affect user settings, especially not ntuser.dat!
So correct answer is to configure roaming profile, thus configuring userprofile settings!

  2. gfh says:

You can redirect the user profile to \\Server1\Users\$user

So the entire user profile, app data included, is on the server. Also using GPO is MS preferred.

    So answer is B

1.) Corrent Answer is A. Folder redirection is not for user settings. Even if there WAS 1000+ users, that’s what TEMPLATES are for.

2.) This is indeed a 70-411 question. will not be on exam
