By modifying the system driver its signature goes to hell. Turning off the driver signature enforcement should be the first option, if the goal is to minimize the data loss. should the system be unable to boot with the modified driver regardless of the turned off signature enforcement, then go for LKGC.

Last known good configuration is the fastest because it will undo the system driver modification.

If you disable driver signature enforcement it doesn’t mean server will start because of signature, issue most likely in this question is the stated modification made to system driver.

READ THIS LINE: “You discover that Server1 continuously restarts without starting Windows Server 2012 R2.”

TF you think is going to happen when you restore to the LKGC? You are still going to have the same driver issue! You need to disable Driver signature so the server can actually detect the driver and you can boot just fine.
