Which method should you use to move each virtual machine?

HOTSPOT
Yournetwork contains an Active Directory domain named contoso.com. The domain contains two
member servers named Server1 and Server2. All servers run Windows Server 2012 R2.
Server1 and Server2 have the Hyper-V server role installed. The servers are configured as shown in
the following table.

You add a third server named Server3 to the network. Server3 has Intel processors.
You need to move VM3 and VM6 to Server3. The solution must minimize downtime on the virtual
machines.
Which method should you use to move each virtual machine?
To answer, select the appropriate method for each virtual machine in the answer area.

VM3: export/import is the only option due to different processor manufacturers
VM6: Live migration can be used as both have Intel CPU’s
Live Storage Migration requires same processor manufacturers

I originally picked storage migration for VM3 because I thought export functionality was removed but apparently it still is available, refer to:

Starting in Windows Server 2012, you no longer need to export a virtual machine in order to be able to import it. But, the export functionality still exists and it can be an easy way to prepare virtual machines to be imported.

      Given answer is partially correct.

To answer the question there are a few assumptions we need to make. Is Hyper-V CPU compatibility mode enabled and are the Intel processors on Server2 and Server3 identical?

VM3 needs to be exported/imported, migrations of any kind are not supported between hosts with processors from differing manufacturers.

For VM6 – if the Server2 and Server3 processors are identical, or at least from the same generation the correct answer is a storage migration since the VM storage is not shared (local) a live migration is not supported.
However, if the processors are of differing generations CPU compatibility needs to be ENABLED in order to support migrations. Else the correct answer will be export/import.

      Stupid question!!
