One Comment on “which server should you run adprep.exe?

  1. MountSwolemore says:

This is a tricky question because /forestprep has to be run against the schema master (DC1) and /domainprep has to be run against the infrastructure master (DC3).

However, neither of these considerations matter because the question is asking which server you run adprep ON. 2003r2 COULD be 32 or 64 bit and as such might not be able to run the command since with 2012, adprep is x64 only.

So, the answer is DC3 because 2008r2 is x64 only and 2012 adprep can be run remotely against a 32 bit server.
