Not sure I agree with this answer. Why would the user on DC4 not also be present on DC5 and 6? There are members of the same domain, surely users must replicate to all DCs regardless of them not being Global Catalog servers??

    Am i missing something obvious?

    Darren is correct.

All objects in a DOMAIN are stored on all domain controllers in that DOMAIN. A partial copy of all objects in a FOREST are stored on all Global Catalogs.

1- DC3 only because SYSVOL replicates on a domain level. (And DC1 and DC2)
    2- DC4, DC5, DC6. (And DC1 and DC2)

Bonus- they should probably make DC4 a GC so that site has a local copy.

  3. Jaf says:

File1.txt Replicates to DCs in the same domain (FRS or DFSR). Then, the answer is DC3 (DC1 and DC2 too).
User1 is created in DC4 and stored in its Domain database, and it’s replicated to DC5 and DC6. Is this a copy or is the Object? I hate this kind of questions!

And remember, by the way, that DC do not hold copies of objects from whole forest. They hold and replicate ONLY some properties from the objects that are not from their domain.
