This is really badly covered in the Exam Ref. The basic steps according to https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Plan-and-manage-cases-in-the-eDiscovery-Center-d955aeb8-0d48-4291-a8e2-f3b84f17943f?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US are (filtered for this context):
    1. Create eDiscovery case
    2. Create a new eDiscovery set and define content sources
    3. Define queries to identify content from the defined sources, then export content.

Step 3 is not even explained in the Understanding Enterprise eDiscovery section in the Exam Ref. and will lead to people who only use this prep material to incorrectly pick A or B as the answer. Beware! Another example of these books being poor material for prep (as stand-alone material, at least)! Those More Info links at the end of each chapter and section are not optional reading! :O
