A.
Reboot the VCS peer.

B.
Take a backup of the VCS peer.

C.
Remove the VCS peer from the cluster.

D.
Shut down the other devices in the cluster.

Explanation:
You must remove the Cisco TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS) peer from the cluster before
performing a restore on the device. Backing up any device in a VCS cluster also backs up the configuration
information for the cluster.
After you remove the device from the cluster, you can restore the data to the VCS. To restore a backup,
navigate to Maintenance > Backup and restore by using the web interface. In the Restore section, browse to
the locally accessible backup file that you want to restore. If the backup file is encrypted, enter the password in
the Decryption password field. After you click Upload system backup file, the device will determine whether the
password is valid and will display the current software version and the number of calls; on a VCS, it will also
display the number of registrations. Click Continue with system restore to begin the restoration process. After
the restoration process is complete, the system will restart.
After the restored VCS restarts, you should build a new cluster on the VCS. You should then remove the other
peers from the cluster and add them to the new cluster.
You need not reboot the VCS peer before performing a restore on the device, nor do you need to shut down or
reboot the other devices in the cluster. Although it is a good practice to back up a VCS before performing an
upgrade or a system restore, it is not mandatory to do so.
The backup and restoration process for a Cisco VCS Expressway is nearly identical to the backup and
restoration process for a Cisco VCS. The same limitations apply to both devices.
