Sorry but the answer i believe would be:

NPS1: Network Policy / Remote RADIUS server group
    NPS2: RADIUS Client

The Connection request policy is done on the VPN1 Server and is used to forward the network requests to NPS1 Server. Then the network policy is used to determine whether the users are granted access or not

Sorry my mistake the correct answer is as was stated:

NPS1: a connection request policy / a remote RADIUS server group
      NPS2: a RADIUS client

      See below links for confirmation:

A Remote Radius Server Group is used on a Proxy Radius for 1 or multiple Radius Servers in this case NPS1 is the Proxy Radius and VPN1 is the Radius Server
      • Remote Radius Server Group

A Connection Request Policy is used by the Proxy Radius to determine which Radius server will be used to authenticate a specific connection request
      • Connection Request Policy

A Radius Client is the Server/Switch etc that will request the connection request on behalf of the client PCs/Users in this case the users at Adatum.com connecting through the Radius Client (NPS2)
      • Radius Client
