If no flags are defined during a back up on the Security Management Server, where does the system store the *.tgz file?

B. /var/CPbackup/backups
C. /var/opt/backups

B is the closest even though they are all wrong….

It is ‘/var/log’ if /var/log mounts to a large file system.
(And even then the directory /var/CPbackup still exists, only it isn’t used for backups by the system.)))
Otherwise bakups really go to ‘/var’.

To make a backup
From the command line, run backup
Running backup without any flags will use default backup settings and put the file in /var/CPbackup/backups
Note – On UTM-1 and Power-1 appliances, the location will be /var/log/CPbackup/backups

Tested on GAiA R77.10 after running the command ‘backup’ in Expert Mode:
[Expert]# pwd
/var/CPbackup/backups
[Expert@]# ls
backup_24_Mar_2017_11_52.tgz
/var/log/CPbackup/backups
