OK, I’m going to show Prasad the proper way to answer a question…..

Considering the question made a point that all users log on to the local domain, then option A, Deploy a GPO that uses the Communicator.adm administrative template is the most logical answer and it’s the only one that could satisfy the requirement.

To understand the solution one must understand just what the “Advanced Connection Settings” menu does in the Lync 2010 client:

    Automatic Configuration
    Manual Configuration
Internal server name or IP address
External server name or IP address
    Connect using:
    TCP or TLS

The “Specify transport and server” setting in the communicator.adm file will configure these items for the user and prevent them from being changed.

    Wrong options include:

Deploying a GPO that removes all members of the local administrators group does more than what the question is asking and won’t prevent the users ability to change the settings.

Set-CsClientPolicy modifies several property values, but doesn’t prevent users from modifying the advanced connection settings.

Set-CsUserServicesConfiguration modifies an existing collection of User Services configuration settings used to help maintain presence information and manage conferencing.
