he above configuration is called vlan-rewriteSyntax:

    vlan-rewrite translate (200 500 | 201 501)

Translates an incoming VLAN to a bridge-domain VLAN (200->500, 201-.501), corresponding counter translation at egress (500->200, 501->201). Supports translation of VLAN 200 to VLAN 500 and VLAN 201 to VLAN 501. Other valid VLANs pass through without translation.

The optical Transport Network BTI822 towards BTI7801 at the Service Provider Remote Office is still within the Service Provider Network, so 500 and 501 will egress the MX Series device toward them, after the customer VLANs (200 and 201) are translated to the Service Provider VLANs (500 and 501). On egress from the Service Provider bridge domain, the VLANs are translated back to the customer (500->200 and 501->201) and vlans 200 and 201 are what the customer sees.

The answer should be A) 500 & B) 501 as the question talks about “two VLAN IDs are egressing the MX Series device towards the optical transport network” and in the above exhibit, the ‘Optical Transport Network’ device is “BTI7801” not “BTI822”.

The MX device in question is “MX240-2” and VLANs leaving this device would be 500 & 501 after translation.
