Wrong. D is the correct answer. you initiate the migration from the CURRENT cluster hosting the roles.

CAU is only for migrating from a Server 2012 cluster to a Server 2012 cluster. Because we are migrating from a Server 2008 R2 cluster, we don’t need CAU.

Wheeler is right… CAU is only supported in 2008, and we are migrating from 2008 cluster systems to 2012. So we have to migrate the roles.

The Copy Cluster Roles Wizard does not migrate Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS) tasks, Hyper-V Replica Broker settings, Task Scheduler tasks, and Cluster-Aware Updating (CAU) settings. If you were using any of these features on the old cluster, you will need to configure them on the new cluster.
Does CAU work with Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7?
No. CAU coordinates the cluster updating operation only from computers running the Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows 8.1 or Windows 8 operating system.
As all material indicates that you perform the move from the Target Cluster this would indicate that D is not correct and B & C don’t make sense for the requirements
It could be argued that MS are just promoting the use of the latest Cluster Aware Updating technology available in 2012 R2 clustering in this question so the fact that 2008R2 does not support it would mean that you would need to install it on the new cluster
Question regarding any requirements after the new cluster is online are not clear IMHO but A would be the only answer that makes sense here as Lance eluded to

I’d like to reinforce the case Lance and James are making. While it might seem strange, configuring Cluster-Aware Updating is actually part of the checklist.
The other 3 options are blatantly wrong. Moving Core Cluster Resources to another Node is pointless. So is Migrating Roles from the source cluster.
Only correct option that remains is A.

A – resources are moved to another node in the cluster so updates can be done on one of the nodes.
B,C – will only move the resources to another node in the same cluster
D – migrates from one cluster to another.

After looking further into this I now am not sure, the following article suggests you should click migrate roles on the TARGET cluster rather than the source cluster, there is then an option where you type in the old cluster name.
Therefore (although I don’t understand why) I think the answer is A

Just noticed something, if you compare the UI of failover clustering in server 2008 r2 and 2012 r2 you will notice that the screenshot in the explanation for the answer is actually 2012 r2. Therefore this suggests again that you select migrate roles from the 2012 r2 server and not the 2008 r2 one.

I don’t get why this would be CAU? CAU (Cluster Aware Updating) is a new feature of Windows Server 2012. This would only automate the task and process on updating Windows Servers. How can CAU migrate the roles? I still believe the answer is E.

It seems to me that the spelling of D is wrong, so it was supposed to be Cluster2, but someone made a mistake and wrote Cluster1. Only one that makes sense is D. A has nothing to do with migration process.
