How exactly do you “configure a content delivery network”?!? If that’s a fancy name for a network share, then someone at Microsoft doesn’t really understand what a CDN is.
However, the requirement for “a self service model” rules out using a GPO to deploy Office, the installation files are only XML, and %deployroot%\applications\Office365 isn’t a path that makes any sense; this only leaves the three options in this answer.
I’m quite puzzled by this one.

A ‘Content Delivery Network’ doesn’t seem particulary relevant to this question. So I don’t think that is part of the correct answer.

Regarding using a GPO, if you publish the app to the user (rather than assigning it)the app is made available for the user to choose whether to install it or not, so that would fulfil the ‘self service model’ requirement.

  2. Ekramy Elnaggar says:

1- create a software distribution point at \\server\share\office.

2- configure an installation XML file and set the sourcepath parameter to \\server\share\office. copy installation files to the source path.

3- configure a group policy object to install office applications by using the installation text file.

I don’t agree 8,7,5 because you have to permit self-service deployment. My question regards the correct order: 2,8,7 or 8,7,2? Why do we have to create the updates repository before creating package repository?
    Thanks
