A.
Reservation

B.
Scope options

C.
NAP

D.
Scope properties

Explanation:
Configuring an IP address as a reservation will restrict a DHCP server’s assignment of that address
unless a specific MAC address makes a request for the address.
Exclusion is for not use the IP Address or range inside the Scope Pool, Filter is for not use theMAC
Address or range.
Quick Tip: Policies can also be defined per scope or server. Policy based assignment (PBA) allows an
administrator to group DHCP clients by specific attributes based on fields contained in the DHCP
client request packet. This feature allows for targeted administration and greater control of
configuration parameters delivered to network devices.

Can’t believe A is the answer. The question asked “ensure a specific IP address is never assigned”. If reservation is used, then if I spoof the MAC address of a device, then I will acquire that ip address reserved for such MAC address. But if using exlusion, then we ensured no matter in what circumstances the address is not offered.

    The answer can’t be A.

A reservation reserves an IP for a specific device (which it uses the MAC address to identify). The IP address is still assigned it is just assigned to a specific device. The questions says you need to “ensure a specific IP address is NEVER assigned”.

An exclusion is the only way to make sure the IP address isn’t assigned at all. Annoyingly however this isn’t an option.

Exclusions are configured in ‘Address Pool’ which is under ‘Scope’ NOT ‘Scope Options’

Therefore I think the answer is D

Also in the Scope Properties (right click the scope then properties) you can change the actual scope.

You could do this to not include the IP address in the scope to begin with.

    Answer is D
