      5GHz doesn’t penetrate walls/obstructions as easily as 2.4GHz. 802.11n can operate at 2.4 as well, but n using 2.4 isn’t an option here.

      When it comes to radio waves, think of it as the energy going back and forth (cycling/Hz) steals the energy from it pushing forward.
