You need to ensure that the VHD files of the virtual machines can be stored on the SAN

Your network contains multiple servers that run Windows Server 2012.
The network contains a Storage Area Network (SAN) that only supports Fibre Channel connections.
You have two failover clusters. The failover clusters are configured as shown in the following table.

Only the members of Cluster1 can connect to the SAN.
You plan to implement 15 highly available virtual machines on Cluster2. All of the virtual machines
will be stored in a single shared folder.
You need to ensure that the VHD files of the virtual machines can be stored on the SAN.
What should you do? (Each correct answer presents a complete solution. Choose all that apply.)

    Attention points:
SAN only provides fibre channel connections.
Only cluster1 can connect to SAN.
In cluster2. “All the virtual machines will be stored in a single shared folder”

  2. Aberdeen Angus says:

My vote goes for just D. A Virtual Fibre Channel SAN is for VMs to access LUNs on the SAN directly by giving virtual HBAs to the VMs. This isn’t a requirement, the question just says that the VMs’ virtual hard disks will be stored on the SAN, so A and B are wrong. iSCSI isn’t needed either because Cluster1 is being configured as a scale-out file server which is accessed via SMB not iSCSI, so C is wrong.

  3. Rogue says:

In my opinion B & D are correct.

    – “Only the members of Cluster1 can connect to the SAN.”
    So, A is wrong.
    – “You need to ensure that the VHD files of the virtual machines can be stored on the SAN.”
    So, C is wrong.

You create the virtual FC SAN from Cluster1 and configure it for SoFS. B and D.
