I think A is right. You create a distributed application, set monitoring and after this, change behavior of alert using monitor override.

I believe by default when you setup a monitor it will monitor all servers for the service whether they have it or not. By using the override you can restrict it to monitor only one specific server. There is a check box that you uncheck during the setup to disable monitoring, that you in turn change when specifying a specific server to monitor. In this case though you are monitoring multiple servers so in theory you could specify more than one server in the override making this a Yes.
