    Maybe something went over my head and I am confused.

    We do teaming to provide resiliency. If I take the above solution and add another interface to the team then the team will have say 1st interface mapped to vlan 10, 2nd interface mapped to vlan 11 and 3rd interface not mapped to any so it will send untagged packets. If the 2nd interface fails then how will the traffic for vlan 11 go out? Will the 3rd interface automatically assign itself to vlan 11?

    I agree with Monu:
    This is confusing: we have a team 1 with two adapters in vLan10
    This is already redundant.
    So we have to make VLAN11 redundant : add an extra NIC and connect this to VLAN11, then create a new team.
    but not to team1..
    but no good answer here..

    we don’t add nic to the team. instead, we add interface to the team like one person with many hats instead of one hat only. sysadmin could also be network admin/storage admin/database admin/application admin, etc. interface will never fail. only nic will. since 2 nics are in the team, if the first nic fail, traffic will route through 2nd nic. the concept is truly from the network admin world where single port could carry multiple vlans traffic. untagged for production, 10 for voip, 20 for management, 30 for wifi, 40 for san, 50 for vm, etc.

    Argh!!! The Link Jojo provided confused me. Besides using server manager to add the VLAN (via add interface) it also states: Alternatively, the Add-NetLbfoTeamNIC PowerShell 3.0 cmdlet can be used to configure a new team interface on an existing NIC team using the following command line:

    Add-NetLbfoTeamNIC -Team NetTeam01 -VlanID 56

    A. change the load balancing mode would not add VLAN11
    B. would only work if it would be Run the New-NetLbfoTeamNICcmdlet and not the New-NetLbfoTeamcmdlet as stated.
    C. works
    D. would only add an additional NIC to an existing team. It would not add VLAN11

    So C it is.

    The question did not ask what should you do first (add an interface to Team1)…it says to ensure that Server1 can accept network traffic on VLAN 10 and VLAN 11… so you need another NetLbfoTeam. So D is correct.

    Question mentions Team interface is changed from default to specific VLAN ID of 10. Any traffic for Vlan11 will be lost. We dont know which vlans are connected to which nic. Adding interface for vlan11 will allow traffic for vlan11 to go via the team.
