    Storage Spaces can do mirroring, 3-way mirroring, and parity (similar to RAID 5); each choice is optional as no resiliency option is required to use Storage Spaces for virtual storage.

    Failover clustering is supported, but all assigned drives must support a multi-initiator protocol (such as SAS).

    Storage Spaces are virtual disks (created on any number of physical disks) with options for resiliency (mirroring, 3-way mirroring, parity, and/or clustering), thin/think provisioning.

    Storage Spaces are NOT a collection of physical disks, but Storage Spaces utilize one or more physical disks to create virtual disks (Which are then referred to as Storage Spaces).

      When MS talks about Storage Spaces they mean SW(VOLUME(s)) Storage Spaces.
      REMEMBER that you can NOT associate VIRTUAL attributes to HW. The ONLY thing associated to HW are SMB(Basic), GPTE(Dynamic) and GUIDS (one per physical disk)
