What is microsoft trying to do by giving us the wrong answer here? Its been wrong in all the versions of these exams.

It’s Get-ADGroup, its pretty simple to try out yourself. Rename adobject only changes the display name, not the SAM.

Maybe these exams have “unmarked questions” and they are placed just to see if you blindly memorized things from a website like this. Maybe its questions like this that raises a “cheater multiplier”, and that influence your total score.

So the question is, if you get this question in the real exam, will you answer what you know is correct (get-adgroup), or answer as its shown here (rename adobject) and let Microsoft know that you are pre-reading exams?

Or maybe Microsoft runs this website!….I need to put another layer of foil on my head, excuse me.

I think you’re making the mistake of assuming every answer shown is the official correct one! I’m sure it’s not – Its just the one that people have decided is right – in this case they’ve made a mistake.

    G.
    Set-AdGroup

    Explanation:
The Rename-ADObject cmdlet renames an Active Directory object. This cmdlet sets the Name property of an Active Directory object that has an LDAP Display Name (ldapDisplayName) of “name”. To modify the given name, surname and other name of a user, use the Set-ADUser cmdlet. To modify the Security Accounts Manager (SAM) account name of a user, computer, or group, use the Set-ADUser, Set-ADComputer or Set-ADGroup cmdlet.

Just tested in my lab, it’s G. If the question talked about renaming a group, then the correct answer would be Rename-AdObject, but it specifically talks about changing the SAM Account Name, so it’s Set-AdGroup.

Also this articles just prove the correct answer is G:

“To modify the Security Accounts Manager (SAM) account name of a user, computer, or group, use the Set-ADUser, Set-ADComputer or Set-ADGroup cmdlet.”
