What do you do after you submit the cable test analysis, Is there another step?

should be a toner probe to check for shorts.

that’s not what a toner probe is for.

This is another attempt by CompTIA to trick anyone taking this test into selecting a wrong answer. It’s all about spending another 250 bucks to take the test again.
This cable has an open circuit – you can say it wasn’t properly crimped, maybe the pin broke later after being yanked from the wall, whatever – the point is, it lacks CONTINUITY. Both a cable certifier and a multimeter can test for continuity. Using a cable certifier would be overkill, but it’s the correct answer.

Just took the test Feb 2016- it’s all updated. Now when you answer that the cable came back bad you have to rebuild it in the correct color-coded order.

It must be a Multimeter.
Cable testers /Multimeter verify that a cable is wired accurately and can easily identify open and shorts. You can use it to check a cable after connecting connectors to the cable. Additionally, you can use it on cables you suspect are faulty due to problems such as being stepped on or run over by a chair.
Cable Certifier
A cable certifier is used to verify that a cable meets its specifications such as the bandwidth and frequency. For example, it can verify a CAT 5e cable meets specifications and supports speeds of 1000 Mbps, and can verify a CAT 6 cable supports speeds of 10 Gbps.
Please correct me if I’am wrong.
