      prolly cos if the printer is in the wrong vlan it won’t receive messages from hosts outside the vlan. so if PC-A needs to print and is on VLAN-1 but the printer is on VLAN-2 without additional configuration the printer won’t receive the message

      The new cable is a key to ignore A, the speed and duplex mismatch may cause issues but will not drop all communication so we can assume it is on a different VLAN and this is why there is no communication attempts made. Even with duplex mismatch or speed mismatch we could ping the printer, if it does not respond to any communication then we can use deductive reasoning to point to C.
