The HP StorageWorks Enterprise Backup Solution (EBS) Compatibility Matrix provides information
for designing data protection solutions, including backup/restore and archiving, that scale from
entry-level workgroups to enterprise-level data centers. It includes support for Direct Attach SCSI
(DAS), Direct Attach Fibre (DAF), and Storage Area Network (SAN). It does not imply product
availability.
Updates/changes to individual fields within the Matrix will be highlighted in bold RED. Products
highlighted in yellow will be removed from the EBS Compatibility Matrix in the next release.
Previous versions of the EBS Compatibility Matrix are available on the web at
www.hp.com/go/ebs.
HP partners with leading application and product vendors to provide backup/restore, archiving,
and data security solutions. See below for information on the Extended Solution Interoperability
(ESI) and Tape Automation Compatibility (TAC) categories:
Extended Solution Interoperability (ESI): HP performs on-going interoperability and extensive
solution testing with these applications to provide fully certified and supported data protection
solutions that include HP tape libraries, autoloaders, disk backup systems, and virtual library
systems. Extensive solution details including operating system details, host bus adapter and driver
information, SAN infrastructure, and extended tape library feature support can be found
throughout this document.
Tape Automation Compatibility (TAC): These products are verified for compatibility with HP tape
libraries, autoloaders, disk backup systems, and virtual library systems. Consult the product
compatibility guide(s) for additional support details such as product version information, driver
details, firmware revisions, patch levels, etc.
This document shows compatibility for SAN media servers. A SAN media server is defined as a
server with direct access to backup devices. Other operating systems may be supported within
EBS by the respective ISVs as LAN clients, where a LAN client does not have direct access to the
backup device but is backed up over a LAN connection to a server with devices highlighted in
yellow direct access to backup devices.
