A & D. First off, since it’s DPM 2012, The Hyper-V role IS NOT NEEDED on the DPM server to allow ILR. Therefore, A. build the DPM server, and D.Configure DPM to perform guest-level backups of the VMs. We will not perform B. because we are not doing host level backups of the VMs. We will not perform step C, because it is un-neccessary on DPM 2012. (We can assume from the scenario that DPM is being installed on a Server 2012 machine.) Finally, we will not perform step E. because host level backups are not needed for Item Level Recovery.

You can back up virtual machines at the host or guest level. At the host level the DPM protection agent is installed on the Hyper-V host server or cluster. At the guest level the agent is installed on each virtual machine. If you deploy host level back you’ll be able to recover an entire virtual machine, or perform item-level recovery to want to be able to back up and restore specific files, folder, volumes or hard disks. B: you could deploy the agent to each vm with the solution of a guest backup, however the requirement is to have the LEAST number of agents, this would imply at least 12 (not to mention that for the solution to be complete, you would also need to have a THIRD selection to configure guest level backup)
C: Hyper-V service, as stated, above you can almost assume that they’re installing DPM on the same Hyper V server, but it does not state specifically. After all, looking at answer A: “Deploy a DPM server” almost indicates that it is a new server, else it would read “Deploy DPM to the server?”. If you want to perform item-level recovery for virtual machines (recover files, folders, volumes) then you’ll need to install the Hyper-V role on the DPM server. DPM. If you only want to recover the virtual machine and not item-level then the role isn’t required.

The question never states that the DPM server is installed on the Hyper-V host as a VM, so it could be as well be installed on a separate host. On a separate host, the Hyper-V role should be installed.
Then A&C is the correct answer.
If DPM is installed as a VM on the current host (where Hyper-V role is already installed) Then A&E would be the correct answer.
In my opinion some relevant information is missing to answer this question without doubt. I would go for A&C because this makes the most sense to me in this scenario.
