I am going to say something a little different and I would say B + D

The proxy address only effect exchange and not login office 365 login accounts. The office 365 looks at UPN for credentials. This rules C out as the answer.

The user can also have multiple email address assigned to the same account, so that rules D out.

When you sign upto office 365 you verify your DNS domain.
