Yes agreed with Brady.
1 – I’d compress everything in the USB key (to save more space, although may not be unnecessary)
2 – Backup the zip file to another location
3 – Format the USB key in NTFS

in the begining I’m agree with: Tim,gtsamis… But in all dumps appears to make the back up in last position
