When deciding between multiple routes to the same destination, the route with the lowest metric is selected as the best route.”

    You can already see the other gateway settings. So the only thing that should be changed is the metric. As the new gateway should only be used when the other is down, the metric(cost) should be higher than the standard gateway, as explained above.
