I would agree if the question was to steal proprietary info to sell to a competitor, but because the question states, “steals a company’s proprietary information to gain a market edge and reduce time to market” it makes more sense that a competitor was the threat actor. I can’t imagine why an insider would want to gain a market edge or reduce time to market unless the insider was a competitor. Generally, an insider steals info for financial gain.
yes, totally agree. Insider makes no sense. So I’m going to steal my own company’s information to reduce time to market and gain a market edge? Maybe if I run my own business that sells the exact same product or services as my employer.

I’m still struggling with this one. As I read more, most every time a competitor is mentioned in regards to a threat actor, it is referencing information being stolen by an insider to sell to a competitor. I’m still sticking with A: Competitor for the above reasons, however it wouldn’t surprise me if it was C: Insider.

Agree with JohnnyMac, it’a A. Pay attention on phrase “gain a
market edge”. Only competitor wants to do this.

It has to be B. I don’t know why people are arguing over this one. Even the website agrees!
