Completely disagree with this answer. I’ve seen this question all over braindumps, and they’ve all got the same answer (which I am sure is wrong).

    My answer:

B is correct (VTP must be enabled, since it’s disabled by default)
E is correct (in client mode, you have to configure domain/password, otherwise it won’t work)
H is correct (VTP pruning can/is used in Nexus)

    Braindump answer:
    B. I agree.
    F. I’m pretty sure this one is close, but still wrong.

In “SWITCH (642-813) Student Guide Volume I” and in its Slide/Page 2-22, VTP Mode Features:

In VTP Server Mode, switch “saves VLAN configuration information in a file named vlan.dat in flash memory.”

Since answer F refers to Bootflash instead of Flash, I think it is wrong. (Thanks to Salman Ahmed for this one).

    G. There’s no such file as vtp.conf

  2. Rob says:

    I found this info:

    http://www.cisco.com/web/techdoc/dc/reference/cli/nxos/commands/l2/vtp_file.html

“The default configuration file is stored in the VTP database, vlan.dat, in NVRAM. VTP configuration information is also stored in the startup configuration file.”

    and:

“server — If the startup configuration file indicates the switch to be configured in VTP server mode, the switch recovers the VTP and VLAN configuration information from the VTP database file available in the bootflash storage file system.”

    So F is correct.

Because i had doubts about this question to, i’ve searched in the study guide:

    Qoute:

Where Did I Get My VLAN and VTP Databases?
The answer to this question depends on a few factors, but understand that NX-OS is different
than an IOS-based switch. In an IOS-based switch the VLAN and VTP databases were stored
in the vlan.dat file found in flash memory. Deleting this file would set the VLAN configurations
back to factory default. We want to take a different approach when configuring our
VLANs and VTP on our NX-OS switches and understanding where the information is stored.
First, the default configuration file for NX-OS is vlan.dat in bootflash but also the VLANs
and VTP information is stored in startup-config. Let’s take a look:

    end of qoute

  4. Someone says:

    BCorrect: B,F,H

Not E: Domain is mandatory, but a password is not mandatpry to configure.
They should be the same on both side, but of none configured on Server-side, you dont need to configure it on client side. Therefor E is wrong.

NOT G: as already said. VTP.CONF doesn’t exist. (unless you manual create the file :D)
