Which statement is NOT true regarding NetApp Snapshots of VMware ESX datastores?
A.
A NetApp Snapshot captures the entire FlexVol including information NOT associated with
VMDKs.
B.
For VMDKs on VMFS datastores, to restore a specific VMDK requires a copy from the NetApp
Snapshot to the datastore.
C.
NetApp Snapshots can be employed to backup VMFS, NFS, or RDM datastores.
D.
NetApp Snapshots are instantaneous, so they always produce an application consistent image
Explanation:
doubt the answer to this question as in order to perform application consistent snapshots writes must be quiesced using a mechanism of some kind. The only answer that seems to fit is A as snapshots are volume level irrespective of whats in the volume.

I believe the answer is indeed “D”. The question is asking which statement is NOT true, and “D” states that “because it is instantaneous”, the a NetApp snapshot is “always” consistent. As stated in an earlier comment, something must quiesce operations and flush writes to set the volume to a consistent state BEFORE that instantaneous snap.
