    Because of the architectural changes, clients can no longer use the RPC protocol to
    connect. All Outlook clients must connect using a remote procedure call (RPC) over HTTP,
    including internal clients.
    When any of the Outlook clients connect to their mailboxes located on Exchange 2013 Mail-
    box servers, they use Outlook Anywhere as the only mechanism to connect because RPC no
    longer exists as a mechanism for client connectivity.
