Either dynamic memory is off and you can just turn it on to adjust the settings or the dynamic memory is already on and all you need to do is modify the setting.

None of the options state to turn dynamic memory on, so one must assume it is already on with presented options.

You don’t need to shut down the VM to modify dynamic memory.

    I would select B not A.

  2. Pirulo says:

Tested on a VM with Dynamic Memory Enabled:
    Three settings available :
    Startup Memory:
    Minimum Ram :
    Maximum Ram :

    Startup memory is greyed out.
If I try to increase Minimum Ram, I get the following error :

    “Cannot apply changes for Memory.
You cannot decrease the maximum memory or increase the minimum memory while the virtual machine is running or paused.”

    So answer is A

It’s vmware where I work, but in lab I just tried increasing the maximum dynamic memory on a running VM, both in VMM and in Hyper-V, both let me do it.

So I’m going for B but there are limitations as researcher’s link says, it depends what change to memory is being done.
