VMware remote console will not use any communication if you are access the VMs from the virtual center directly and click the console preview tab on right hand side.

I agree the correct answer is not FCoE which requires a Vswitch. Within VMware Remote Console you can connect to a VM without any networking configured on the VM. Correct answer is B

No, it uses DNS for lookup. Just dealt with a DNS issue causing me to be unable to use remote console the other day.
