Which step will accomplish this task?

You need to duplicate a production LUN for quality assurance testing. The LUN resides in svm_prod and needs
to be available in svm_qa. Both SVMs reside on the same cluster.
Which step will accomplish this task?

PrepAway - Latest Free Exam Questions & Answers

A.
Issue the lun move command.

B.
Issue the volume rehost command.

C.
Issue the lun copy command.

D.
Issue the volume move command.

Explanation:
Cluster administrators can copy a LUN across Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs) within the cluster by using the
lun copy command.

Guys I took the exam today. As mentioned there are about 20 new questions. I remember some of them partially.

    1) You want measure performance of an Exchange server and be alerted when latency is above 20%

    a) Set event handler
    b) Set event …
    c) set data source …
    d) dont remember

    2) Which block protocol is available for ONTAP cloud

    a) iSCSI (I picked that)
    b) NFS
    c) CIFS
    d) FCOE

    3) There was question about SSD pools used on a two node cluster and used as efficiently as possible, but I dont remember it exactly.

    4) What is required to make a CIFS share (SMBv2) for NFSv3 clients accessible?

    5) You want to configure a cluster with at least 10 nodes. Which model you use

    a) FAS8200 (I picked that)
    b) FAS26xx
    c) FAS25xx
    d) ONTAP select

    6) Which function can be used for SnapLock Compliance

    a) Metrocluster
    b) FlexArray (I think this is correct)
    c) Snapmirror
    d) Syncmirror (I picked that)

    @Hans

    1) This looks to me like a question for OnCommand Unified Manager:
Should be something with thresholds or events.

    https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2496256
    page 11

    2) I agree, protocols supported on ONTAP Cloud for AWS/Azure:
Multiprotocol support (NFS, CIFS, and iSCSI), So in this case iSCSI.

    http://docs.netapp.com/occm/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.netapp.doc.onc-cloud-mgr-concepts-320%2FGUID-154001FF-8691-4F67-BBA5-CBE6DE14A052.html

    4) I would guess the answer would be something with the export policy (allowing CIFS + NFSv3). Also configure SVM for CIFS + NFS access. Create a volume with both types. And access / configure data lif for CIFS+NFS

    https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2495163

    5)
    A FAS8200 (http://www.netapp.com/us/media/ds-3807.pdf) -> SAN supported 12 nodes, NAS supported 24 nodes
    B FAS26xx (http://www.netapp.com/us/media/ds-3808.pdf) -> depending on the model its 8 nodes max
    C FAS25xx (http://www.netapp.com/us/media/ds-3581.pdf) -> depending on the model its 4 or 8 nodes max
D ONTAP select (https://fieldportal.netapp.com/content/376129?assetComponentId=376758 only available if you have an NetApp account) -> depending on the license you get 2 or 4 node cluster.

    So A is correct.

    6)

A (MetroCluster) and D (SyncMirror) are not supported see page 4 -> https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2507748
B is only supported with Snaplock Enterprise license -> https://library.netapp.com/ecmdocs/ECMP1368820/html/GUID-9E05FE59-BF40-4C22-AD4D-ACBCB552D9A0.html
    C You can find SnapVault/SnapMirror info on page 20,21 -> https://library.netapp.com/ecm/ecm_download_file/ECMLP2507748

So my opinion is that the correct answer is C. SnapMirror

The exam much easier than I expected. Maybe I over prepared 🙂 .

Almost all the questions on the test version I got were those that got covered here.

I got 3 questions that were not covered here but they were easy general knowledge questions, one was about the difference between FC LIFs and VLANs.

I got every single one of the controversial question, I went with the “censuses” answer from our discusses here.

I took exam today and passed. About 40 questions from this dump. I have tested all the questions that i was not sure of. Around 20 new or adjusted.
My feeling is if you studied these questions and practiced a bit with ONTAP SIM and have a some experience with ONTAP CLI/GUI the exam should isn’t too hard.

Sharing abit from my memory…. All the question Hans mentioned were in the exam.

    1) Is about Performance manager. So you might want to look into the tool.
A and B where about event
C threshold policy (i guessed it was this)
    D data source

    2) Block protocol ONTAP Cloud = ISCSI

    3) was You want to make two Flash pools, you also want to consider doing this efficiently to waste the least amount of diskspace. Answers where
    A) create a storage pool and then create one flash pool aggregate and another flash pool aggregate
    B) create one flash pool from a storage pool, and one flash pool with physical disks
    C) create two flash pool with phyiscal disks
    D) cant remember

I choose for A. Not sure if its correct, but made more sense to me.

    4) Cant really remember correctly but the answer should be atleast something with export policy.

    5) FAS8200

    6) Question was a bit different, but in the end the same answer. SnapMirror is the only viable option.

I think i also got a question about WORM copy (also the same options as in 6). Again only SnapMirror is viable.

Another question you have two clusters. I think the question was like which replication method do you use. Answers are: XDP, DP, TDP or LS. I choose XDP.

Question (cant remember exactly) you have a cluster with two SVMs on different subnets. You want to move SVM to another location. Which commands would help you accomplish this. Answers where:
    A) something with network config true parameter
    B) something with network config false parameter
    C) preserve-identity true
    D) preserve-identity false

Another exhibit question with show route. You have created new CIFS SVM, everything configured, subnet filled in. Users cant connect to the data lif of the new CIFS SVM. Then they give you an output with show route and show network interface. The only viable answer i think is that there is no route created for the new CIFS SVM. All the other answers didnt make sense to me.

Another question: Currently CIFS share (SMBv2.1) is available to Windows users, but you want to make it also accessible for a Unix user. What do you need to do?
    A) modify export policy
    B) create a basic Windows user
    C) create a basic Unix user
    D) dont remember

I choose A and C, as Windows user is not really needed cause they can already access the share via Windows. D didnt made sense to me aswell…

Also something with SVMDR not sure what it was exactly, maybe i already mentioned it.

    Good luck

is this question similar like this list below?
You have multiple volumes that are exported to a group of hosts within your environment.
A new host needs access to the volumes.
Which two actions accomplish this task? (Choose two.) A and C
      A. Mount the new exports from the host.
      B. Create a new SVM.
      C. Create a rule in the export policy on the SVM.
      D. Create a new data LIF on the SVM.

I think if you are replicating an SVM to a different subnet the option for the identity-preserve should be false, answer D in this example.

I think the answer is D D) preserve-identity false because you’re going to a different subnet. If you were protecting the SVM on the same subnet then it would be C) preserve-identity true.

If the source and destination SVMs are in different subnets, you can use the -discard-configs network option of the snapmirror policy create command to exclude LIFs and related network settings from SVM replication.
