Planned Changes
——-Weyland Technical Solutions plans to hire an additional 200 employees in the next 12 months.
Each new employee will have a new desktop computer running Windows 7 and Microsoft Office
2010. All current desktops will be upgraded.
In the next six months, the company plans to reduce the number of physical servers by using
virtual servers. The company hopes to decommission ten of the current servers. The remaining
five servers will be upgraded to Windows Server 2008.
An additional five new physical servers will be added to the network. All servers will run Windows
Server 2008 and Hyper-V to host virtual machines.
One of the new physical servers will host four virtual machines for internal company use. The
other four new physical servers will be configured as a cluster and host up to 60 virtual machines
to host managed solutions for customers. Each new server will have a single quad-core processor.
All virtual machines will run Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition.
