When using RAID 6 with 8 disks, you use two disk for parity and them, six for data.
It seams that the stripe is made over 6 disk.
192 KB / 6 Disks = 32 KB.
That’s all folks.

Anandsays:
RAID 6 has distributed parity. Data and Parity will be spread across all 8 discs.

You are wrongsays:
RAID 6 has dual dedicated parity. RAID 5 has distributed****
Parity is distributed accross all the disks, but you don’t count parity into the stripe size as 2 out of 8 chunks on each stripe don’t contain actual data.

Planetsays:
“For parity RAID, the stripe size calculation does not include the parity strip. For example in a five (4 + 1) disk parity RAID set with a strip size of 64 KB, the stripe size will be 256 KB (64 KB x 4)” Module: Data Protection – RAID.
whats the formula for this??
