    Why not loading balancing? If you loss one node, then everything still should be OK. So it withstands many different types of hardware failures (disk, PSU, RAM etc).

    But RAID only will help if your disk fails.

    Of course it depends on your application.

      Because “no budget”. Which is silly, since whatever you implement there will be person-hour costs and maybe costs from downtime, but also there is reduced risk so accounting could show a reduction in liability (ie income).
      What they mean is no money to purchase new hardware or software etc.
      This rules out
      A – more hardware requirements
      C – spend money on a new site with hardware and software
      D – another server

      B is usually possible since RAID can be implemented in most operating systems with no additional spend.

      But like many of these questions, it isn’t very good question.
