Answer:

Explanation:

The Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE) provider for Windows Deployment Services
provides client boot services over the network. It registers itself with the WDSServer service
(the main server-side service of the Windows Deployment Services solution) and requests a
remote procedure call (RPC) endpoint.
After the Windows Deployment Services server role is installed, you must configure the
server by using either the Windows Deployment Services MMC snap-in or the /InitializeServer command-line option. The PXE provider must be configured properly before it can
provide client boot services over the network.

This answer is not totally clear, since you need a legacy network adapter to boot from PXE, but you also need to change BIOS settings in order to boot from the legacy network adapter, and on the exhibit, BIOS clearly states “Boot from CD”, so in this case we would have to change the startup order to “network legacy adapter”.
Since you already have legacy network adapter on VM1, what i would change would be “BIOS” and not the leagcy network adapter.
Please, correct me if i’m wrong.

You are right, but if you check the boot order, if it doesn’t find a CD to boot from, it continues and checks another device and since this machine is clear, it will eventually come to network adapter and attempts to boot from it.

Second thing is that they specifically say that “You need to ensure that VM1 can connect to Server1 by using PXE”. If there is no legacy adapter configured, then you cannot connect no matter what is the boot order.
