West Coast Couriers is a courier company based in California. The company consists of a single
building that includes offices and a warehouse. 30 employees work in the offices, 30 people work

Existing Licensing Solution
West Coast Couriers purchased the Exchange Server license, Exchange Server CALs and
Windows Server CALs through different Open License agreements.
All Windows operating system licenses and Microsoft Office licenses were purchased with the
hardware and are OEM licenses.

West Coast Couriers plans to modernize the way jobs are assigned to their drivers. They plan to
issue each driver with a PDA that runs Windows Mobile and a custom application. The custom
application will communicate with a dedicated server in the office. The server should be located in
a perimeter network to improve security. A new server will be purchased for this purpose.
