You can’t actually do E, since the Windows 8 to Windows 10 upgrade is not an update in Windows Update. Had the question been how to upgrade from the RTM build of Windows 10 to the Anniversary or Creators build of Windows 10, E would have been correct.
In this case, however, both options C & D will detect the current Windows installation and ask if you wish to upgrade or do a clean install.

disagree with you. You can upgrade Windows 8 to Windows 10 if have WSUS. Just download windows 10 upgrade.

I mistyped, C&E are correct
D is incorrected. If you boot from media (cd, usb flash) you cannot perfom upgrade because installer show you message “You must run setup.exe from you running OS”
