What is the reason for this?
Your customer recently added a Celerra to their environment and implemented iSCSI on Windows
2003 servers. They created the IQN name for the Windows servers via a script and the name
looked as follows: iqn.2003-04.com.emc.HostA.0083 The servers cannot see the iSCSI LUNs.

What must you do to make the two fabrics merge?
Your customer is reconfiguring the SAN. They are using an MDS switch in fabric A and a B-series
switch in fabric B. They need to share resources across the fabrics. On the weekend a merge of
the fabrics was done. Now they can not connect from fabric A to fabric B. Unique Domain IDs
exist. E_D_TOV and R_A_TOV are equal and Interop mode is set on both fabrics. What must you
do to make the two fabrics merge?
What would you recommend to your customer in this case?
Your customer with the environment in the diagram is facing several
problems: Direct attached storage is poorly utilized Backup is time consuming Storage
management is very complex They would like to consolidate the storage in a SAN without
investing in HBAs. What would you recommend to your customer in this case?
What will the fan-out ratio be?
Throughput from each server is 6400KB/s. Average I/O size is 8KB. Each FA port can support
4000 IOPS. The write ratio is low and customer does not want to exceed 80% utilization of the FA
ports. What will the fan-out ratio be?
What is a permanent fix for this problem?
Customer has implemented HP-UX Campus Cluster using dual-lock disks. They have experienced
“split brain” syndrome in the past. What is a permanent fix for this problem?
What do you advise the customer to do?
There are 12 Solaris hosts connected to two fabrics and a DMX2000. All the hosts are dual-pathed
using Emulex HBAs. All 12 HBAs in each fabric are connected and zoned to one FA port. Each
host is doing 2000 IOPS. Each I/O size is 64KB. Two of the hosts are receiving the following error
in their /var/adm/messages file: SCSI transport failed: reason ‘timeout’: retrying command What do
you advise the customer to do?
How could this have been prevented?
Your customer has recently purchased a second site and is now in the process of connecting the
second site to the existing environment. Customer is using DS16B2, DS32B2 and ED-24000B
switches and directors. Sever problems, such as unstable and unmanageable fabric, occurred
after connecting the two sites with an MPR 7420. How could this have been prevented?
What does EMC recommend to perform the copy?
